Embroidery No 2

The finished piece

I purchased this piece from homesixno together with a few others and this turned out to be a fast & simple project.

A few things though…

  • The roses need to be done first but be careful about snagging. It *will* happen.
  • French knots requires two hands – they will be neater that way.
  • The fabric is thin – this would have worked better if it was done on a thicker fabric.

If you plan to get this from homesixno, be sure to check if this comes with a hoop – I order this together with another three kits so I can’t be sure if this one comes with or without a hoop. Hm.

Where do find these pieces?

There are plenty of embroidery kits floating around on Shopee and Lazada. While prices on Lazada are cheaper (about RM2-4 less), options are limited and some kits don’t provide hoops.

Local stores:

Overseas stores:

  • homesixno1.my – lots of options for hooped pieces but some pieces don’t come with hoops
  • shisanyi.my – good if you’re looking for a variety of pieces such as coasters, amulets, perfume bags, etc

I’m Mabel

I knit. I crochet. I bake. I travel. I read. I write. I take pictures. I blog. I sing. I work. I play. I design. I feel. I love. I live.

As you can see, I am quite a busy person. After having relocated to France, I am now a part-time English teacher with a small business selling crochet items and patterns.

Before my big move, I worked in publishing and public relations prior to my last job as a communications lecturer in a tertiary institution. I was even once a business owner, selling artisanal skincare products and cold-processed soap.
